RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR RESEARCH WORK OR FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

(ARTICLE 90, PARAGRAPH 1 OF THE REPSAE (LEGAL FRAMEWORK ON THE ENTRY, PERMANENCE, EXIT AND REMOVAL OF FOREIGNERS FROM NATIONAL TERRITORY), IN CONJUNCTION WITH ARTICLE 56 OF THE REGULATORY DECREE NUMBER 2/2013)




DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
  • Application delivered personally, on a standard form signed by the applicant (where the applicant is either a minor or legally disabled person the form shall be signed by his / her legal representative), except in SIGAP Service Bureaus
  • Two recent, identical photographs, in colour with blank background, and easily identifiable, except in SIGAP Service Bureaus
  • Passport or any other valid travel document
  • Valid residence visa
  • Evidence of sufficient means of subsistence, as per the provisions of Order Number 1563/2007, of 11/12
  • Evidence that the applicant has adequate accommodation
  • Permission for checking criminal records (see standard form)
  • Written evidence that the applicant has been employed by a research institution officially recognised, specifically through a labour contract, a service rendering contract or a Scholarship for scientific research, or
  • Labour contract or service rendering contract compliant with teaching at a higher education institution, or service rendering contract compliant with a highly qualified professional activity al activity
  • Document proving that the applicant is registered with the Social Security
Notes:
  1. The holders of a valid EU Blue Card, who have resided for a minimum of 18 months on that condition in the Member State that initially granted that card may apply for a Residence Permit for highly qualified professional activity , by submitting the relevant documentation
  2. The holder of a Residence Permit for highly qualified professional activity is entitled to teach
