RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR RESEARCH WORK OR HIGHLY QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY, WITH VISA EXEMPTION


(ARTICLE 90, PARAGRAPH 2 OF THE REPSAE (LEGAL FRAMEWORK ON THE ENTRY, PERMANENCE, EXIT AND REMOVAL OF FOREIGNERS FROM NATIONAL TERRITORY), IN CONJUNCTION WITH ARTICLE 56 OF THE REGULATORY DECREE NUMBER 2/2013)




DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
  • Application delivered personally, (on a standard form) signed by the applicant (where the applicant is either a minor or legally disabled person the form shall be signed by his / her legal representative)
  • Two recent, identical photographs, in colour with blank background, and easily identifiable, except in SIGAP Service Bureaus
  • Passport or any other valid travel document
  • Evidence of sufficient means of subsistence, as per the provisions of Order number 1563/2007, of 11/12
  • Evidence that the applicant has adequate accommodation
  • Extract from the judicial record in the country of origin or of provenance (where the applicant resided for a period exceeding one year)
  • Evidence of having entered and remained legally in National Territory
  • Document proving the applicant’s tax situation
  • Document proving that the applicant is registered with the Social Security
  • Evidence of exceptional personal circumstances invoked by the applicant, specifically:
    • Written evidence that the applicant has been employed by a research institution officially recognised, specifically through a labour contract, a service rendering contract or a Scholarship for scientific research, or
    • o Written evidence of labour contract or service rendering contract compliant with teaching at a higher education institution, or service rendering contract compliant with a highly qualified professional activity al activity

  1. The holder of a Residence Permit for highly qualified professional activity is allowed to teach
